    Type of statistics :

  • Each graph shows, for each observation time H ([H-3h00,H+3h00[ for long cut-off analysis), daily evolution of brightness temperature and returned relative humidity from AMSU-A, AMSU-B/MHS and MWHS2 observations monitoring from respectively all NOAA polar satellites (NOAA 15, NOAA 18 and NOAA 19), AQUA, METOP B, METOP C and FY-3C, FY-3D and FY-3E polar satellites. Daily statistics are calculated for each AMSU-A, AMSU-B/MHS or MWHS2 channel and clear/cloudy sky or sea/land/sea ice categories and each producer center (Exeter, Eumetsat, Nesdis or DBNet). These categories are :
    • clear sky on sea without ice, land and sea ice
    • cloudy sky on sea without ice, land and sea ice
On these graphs are plotted average and standard-deviation curves of deviation from :
    • first guess before and after bias correction
    • first guess and analysis after bias correction
Bias correction is applied for only AMSU-A, AMSU-B/MHS and MWHS2 observations which are used in NWP analysis. No bias correction is applied to observations which are blacklisted and corresponding mean and standard deviation curves of deviation from analysis are not calculated.
