Each graph shows, for each observation time H ([H-3h00,H+3h00[ for long cut-off
analysis), daily evolution of brightness temperature AIRS observations monitoring
from only AQUA polar satellite. Daily statistics are provided for only 324 channels
provided by NASA. Among these, at most 72 channels are used in NWP data assimilation
according to conditions of cloudiness (clear/cloudy) and/or the type of surface
(sea/land/sea-ice). These statistics are calculated for clear/cloudy sky or
sea/land/sea-ice categories. These categories are :
- clear sky on sea without ice, land and sea ice
- cloudy sky on sea without ice, land and sea ice
On graphs foreach channel, are plotted average and standard-deviation curves of deviation
from :
- first guess before and after bias correction
- first guess and analysis after bias correction
Each statistics parameter (average or standard-deviation of first guess before and after
bias correction and analysis) is also plotted on a synthetic graph for all channels.
Bias correction is applied for only AIRS observations which are used in NWP analysis.
No bias correction is applied to observations which are blacklisted and corresponding mean
and standard deviation curves of deviation from analysis are not calculated.
Statistics are presented either for all channels (synthetic shading graphs or 1D graphs),
or only for used channels (1D graphs).
